Abstract:
Between July and September in 2003, the sea ice investigation in Arctic was made to find the relations of Arctic sea ice changing with climate in the second Chinese Arctic Expedition. A series of observations were employed with close collaboration in the fields of sea ice, physical oceanography and boundary layer meteorology. The observed results of the state of ice, ocean and atmosphere will be used to determine the thermal and dynamic exchange between air-ice and ice-ocean over the investigation period. The data collection of Dalian University of Technology, CHINARE-2003 aims to assemble the observational data sets of ice physical properties in order to facilitate the exchange and collaboration between the various research fields and projects in the world. All data will be open in the web of www.chinare.org.cn (Chinese Antarctic & Arctic Research Expedition). The description and interpretation of the data collection are given so as to simplify the access to the data for all users.
