CLIMATOLOGICAL ANALYSIS FOR THE SYNOPTIC SITUATIONS OF THE FOG AT THE GREAT WALL STATION,ANTARCTIC

Abstract: Based on the observed data of Great Wall Station and NCEP data from 1985 to 2006, analyzation was made by climatological statistics and synoptic analysis. It is showed that the seasonal variation of the fog was controlled by atmospheric circulation and pressure field. Three typical synoptic patterns of the fog are found, they are the Front-of-A-Depression type, the Saddle-Shaped-Field type and the Passing-Weak-Cyclone type.
