Abstract:

The phylogenetic diversity of culturable bacteria in lake sediment of the Ardley Island,Antarctic was investigated. A total of 34 strains were isolated and 16S rDNA nearly full-length sequence analysis revealed that strains fall in 4 divisions:gram positive bacteria (Arthrobacter,Rhodococcus,Staphylococcus);gamma-proteobacteria (Pseudomonas,Acinetobacter,Stenotrophomonas);beta-proteobacteria (Janthinobacterium);Cytophaga-Flexibacteria-Bacteroides(Cytophaga,Pedobacter).
