Abstract:

Using measurements of time-variable gravity field from the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment(GRACE)satellite, mass variations of the Antarctic ice and snow are estimated. Because C20 of GRACE is not accurate enough,C20 harmonic from Satellite Laser Ranging(SLR) is adopted instead. The results show that mass loses in West Antarctica, and mass is in balance in East Antarctica. And the rate of Antarctic mass loss is-0.689±0.172cm/a.
