Abstract:

In this paper, the synoptic analysis of sea fog was made based on the weather and hydrology observation data of the third Chinese Antarctic Research Expedition as well as upper and surface weather charts issued by Felac Meteorological Center and Argentine.It was pointed out that in summer advection cooling fog is the main one effecting Drake passage.This kind of fog has a long last time scale, a high frequency and a rather close correlation with the wind field,the appearance possibility in north slightly wind was 86%.The paper gives out several weather patterns with fog appearance as well as the distribution of weather elements of these weather patterns,which could help forecast fog appearance of this region.
